The hardwoods we offer here are harvested from trees that have reached the end of their natural lives. These trees can then be reborn as musical instruments and other wood products.
Music wood, also known as tonewood can be used to make acoustic guitars, electric guitars, violins, ukuleles, mandolins, banjos and other small instruments. What makes a high quality tonewood, which results in a superior guitar or other instrument? The most important factor is the resonant property of the wood. In general, the better the resonant qualities of the wood, the better the sound of the instrument. The species of wood used will determine many of the resonant characteristics of the tonewood.
Other important qualities to look for in tonewoods are light in weight, if it holds a beautiful finish, and has an appealing appearance. The sound quality is always the most crucial consideration when choosing music wood.
