This tree stood as an icon for over 100 years. It was part of an old grafted English/Black Walnut orchard and was one of the largest orchard trees in the area. Unfortunately, it was on a downward spiral with the lack of nut production and dead branches. It was time for this beauty to be removed. When we got the tree knocked over, the root bottom stood over 12’ tall by 12’ wide. It was truly a magnificent site to see. The trunk of the tree measures over 6’ wide at the crotch. We were so blessed to have had the opportunity and privilege to salvage this beautiful Walnut Tree. The root ball was so huge that we had to stump grind it in order to move the log whole. We also found the original old growth redwood stake that was used to plant this tree over 100 years ago.
