We Salvaged this large Urban Red Elm log from a residential neighborhood in Davis, Ca in November 2012. The base of the tree began to rot and eventually became too big of a hazard and needed to come down. Fortunately we were able to come in and save it from being cut into firewood. Not only were we able to save the trunk but we also saved a decent sized upper. We will be milling both logs into beautiful live edge slabs.
It was definitely a full load in our trailer. Below are pictures of us milling it on our Woodmizer WM1000.
