We salvage a large variety of Hardwood Logs, with an emphasis being on Claro Walnut, Black Walnut, Bastogne Walnut and English Walnut.
Hardwood logs are the foundation of a multitude of hardwood projects.
Whether you are in need of hardwood logs for lumber, furniture, wood sculpture or other hardwood projects, it is our goal to deliver the finest available through our hardwood logging process.
Some hardwood logs are reserved for the production of veneer – thin sheets of wood that are peeled or sliced directly from logs. These logs are usually very high quality, with few if any visible defects. Veneer hardwood logs may also be judged on color, growth rate and amount of sapwood versus heartwood. Veneer logs are a higher value than saw logs.
Hardwood logs classified as “Saw logs” are those that are generally turned into hardwood lumber. These types of logs are also called “factory” logs. At any given time we have over 1,000,000 pounds of Walnut logs on hand for you to choose from.
We offer custom milling on our on our Woodmizer WM1000 and our Dedicated Slabber Lucas Mill that can cut up to 9ft WIDE. Knowing the ins and outs of milling is part of what insures the logs we offer will meet the needs of any given project. You can learn more about our additional services here.
As you can see from our stories, this is more than a “job” to our family. We thoroughly enjoy finding, salvaging and selling logs and being a part of the urban logging culture that encourages re-purposing of these beautiful hardwoods.
