We received a call from a 3rd generation farmer who wanted 3 large hazardous walnut trees removed from his piece of land. We didn’t hesitate to take the trip north to save these beautiful trees from the landfill and fireplace. As we arrived at the location to do the job we noticed that under each tree there were large branches laying on the ground beneath them. In all 3 tops of the trees were a bunch of dead branches and were definitely a hazard to the farmers and the cars driving on the road that these trees stood next to. As we talked to the farmer about their trees, we found out that his grandpa planted them in the early 1900’s. The farmer was at ease knowing we were going to re-purpose these trees into live edge wood slabs and that their story would be the center of many conversations for years to come. As you can see in one of the pictures the rotten holes in the bottom of one of the trees, so it was a good thing it was removed. It was an honor to salvage these beautiful trees. You can view the slabs from one of the trees here. 001031, 001032, 001033, 001034, 001035, 001037, 001038, 001039, 001040, 001041, 001042, 001043, 001044
